Ruth Ann Norton, President and CEO of Green and Healthy Homes, joined the Baltimore non-profit in 1992. During her 27 tenure, GHHI has expanded its work from eradicating lead poisoning in Baltimore to creating healthy, safe, and energy efficient housing and has grown its annual budget from $26,000 to $9,000,000. GHHI is now the leading healthy housing organization in the US. Ruth Ann credits her success to consistency, tenacity, and common sense. “Build trust every place you can,” she says.
